This is my first claim, who do I call and what do I do?

Call Allay First! We handle everything. You do not need to call a plumbing company to simply turn the water off. We have an in-house plumber. We can also perform the drying services and the repairs needed to your property. This eliminates multiple people in and out of your property.

Will one company handle everything? 

Yes, Allay can. We can extract the water, dry the structure and restore your property. We will also meet with the assigned insurance professional as well, to ensure there is an agreement of scope to repair your property properly. This eliminates extra invoices to you, and supplemental requests to your insurance company.

Who determines what is and is not approved?

The assigned adjuster will make all coverage determinations. It’s our job to identify the associated damages and address them properly.

So, what is not covered generally?

Your adjuster will discuss all coverages directly with you. It has been our experience, the origin or the source is not considered in the damage settlement, such as the dishwasher, the sink, toilet supply line, the water heater, the garbage disposal or a line in the wall. Our experiences have been, your insurance generally pays for the resulting water damages sustained from a sudden and accidental discharge of water.

Do I have to wait for the insurance company to approve my claim before mitigation work begins?

No, it is your home, the insurance company cannot dictate to you what you can do at your home. Plus, if water is standing in your home, you still must address it regardless of coverage outcome!

Do I owe my deductible and who do I pay that to? 

Yes, you owe your deductible when you go through insurance, this is typically the amount we collect before any work begins.

How long does the whole process take?

This is damage specific, also dependent on your claims adjuster efficiency, finishes (flooring, cabinets, countertops) availability, however we can have most damages repaired with a few days to a few weeks. Once we start on your project, we do not leave to start another project until yours is completed!
